The Tale of the Princess and the Kind Wizard
Summary
An instructive story about fighting evil in the subconscious and the power of mercy.
Once upon a time there lived a little princess named Aelita. She was kind, merciful, and loved everyone around her. But one day the evil sorcerer Morgoth, irritated by her kindness, decided to take revenge.
The sorcerer Morgoth sent a dark force into the princess's subconscious, which slowly began to change her character. At first the princess didn't understand why she was doing bad things, but over time the evil grew stronger.

By the time Princess Aelita grew up, the kingdom had sunk into darkness. She waged wars against neighboring lands, and the common people suffered under her cruel rule.
In a distant land, in a distant kingdom, there lived a kind wizard named Elanor. Learning of the sorcerer Morgoth's evil deeds, he first imprisoned him in a magic sphere and buried it on a deserted island.
But saving the princess would not be easy — she had to want to rid herself of the evil in her own subconscious.
So the wizard devised a cunning plan. He turned into a bird and slipped into the princess's castle at night. While she slept, the wizard appeared to her in a dream.
"My child," he said softly, "you must defeat the evil that has taken root in your heart."
In the dream, the princess was her old, kind self again, and she listened to the wizard closely.
The wizard told the princess that she needed to defeat the dark force in her subconscious, and he promised to help her in that struggle.
Morning came. The princess awoke. The wizard had flown away, but the princess, seized with fury, took decisive precautions. She ordered the guards and servants to brick up every window and keep watch without rest, so that no bird could enter her castle at night.
But the kind wizard had foreseen this turn of events. He cunningly turned into a tiny fly and managed to squeeze through a narrow crack in the tightly shut window. Appearing in the princess's dream, the wizard invited her to journey together into the depths of her own subconscious to defeat the mysterious evil.
The princess's subconscious turned out to be a vast world, inhabited by small, kind creatures — the keepers of her inner world. The wizard and the princess asked these creatures where the dark force could be found. The faithful helpers showed them the way.
A long journey through the labyrinths of the subconscious finally brought them to a grim, mighty tree with black leaves. This grim tree was the very mysterious evil, the dark force that had corrupted the princess's character.
When dawn lit the horizon, the wizard flew away, leaving the princess alone with her inner mysterious evil, and with hope for transformation.
The princess awoke even angrier than before. She ordered every window and the door of her room to be replaced at once, so that not a single crack remained through which anyone might enter.
The kind wizard had foreseen her actions. The following evening, he cleverly slipped into the princess's bedroom through the chimney, turning into a small spider. Appearing in the princess's dream, he invited her to go to the dark tree.
When they stood before the sinister tree, the wizard armed the princess with armor and a sword, while he himself held a magic staff. As soon as they drew near, the tree came alive and began thrashing its thick, mighty branches, threatening to destroy the intruders.
A long and fierce battle unfolded between the wizard and the princess against the evil tree. Fighting with incredible courage, they maneuvered between the giant branches, striking blows and dodging deadly attacks. Finally, after an exhausting struggle, they managed to overcome the dark force, leaving nothing of the mighty dark tree but a small stump.
"We won't have time to dig out the stump," the wizard warned. "A new dark force could begin to sprout from it."
Then the wizard burned all the remains of the tree with his magic staff, to destroy the threat once and for all.
Morning came. The princess awoke, and the wizard appeared before her in his true form. She saw a handsome man and began thanking him for saving her.
"The dark force has not been defeated yet," the wizard said gravely. "It is growing, and soon it will try to take hold of you again. This time I won't be able to get into the castle so easily, but I'll try."
The princess, now kind and wise, opened her windows, a sign of her readiness for change. They said a warm farewell. The wizard turned into a bird and flew away.
By afternoon the princess flew into an even greater rage than before. She ordered the chimney sealed shut, so the wizard could not get into her chambers. By evening, every entrance was securely locked.
The princess went to bed, but in her half-waking state she managed to overcome her dark force and opened a window, then sank into a deep sleep. The wizard, turning into a bird, flew in through the open window and found himself in the princess's bedroom.
Appearing in her dream, they went together to the black tree. From the stump a huge black bush had grown, and they quickly fought and defeated it. Then they dug out the stump, and the wizard burned the remains with his magic staff, so the evil could never sprout again.
In the morning the princess awoke changed — kind and merciful. Seeing the wizard Elanor, she wept for joy and embraced him tightly.
"Be careful," the wizard warned. "Evil can return."
The princess promised to stay watchful. The wizard promised to visit her from time to time.
Princess Aelita ended her wars, and peace settled over their lands.
From then on the princess ruled wisely and justly, never forgetting that great battle in the depths of her own subconscious.
The End.
